Product Information

A range of grain-sized wood chips recommended for use with the Camerons Stovetop and Mini Smokers but also ideal for other smoking methods, particularly where you wish to achieve lower smoking temperatures. They grains can also be used with hot smokers in conjunction with the stainless steel smoker box. Completely pure wood and totally chemical free, the grains are ground to a consistency which offers minimal surface area and promotes more effective smouldering. A little bit goes a long way.

Choose from 12 different wood flavours with one or two more unusual woods such as beech, ash and corn cobb which is made from the husks of corn on the cobb. * Volume is as packed and contents may settle during transit.

Camerons Wood Chip Flavour Selection:

Alder   Famous in the Pacific Northwest for smoking salmon, this mild wood is the chef's smoke flavour of choice and delivers a delicate smoky flavour with a slight hint of sweetness. Excellent with all fish, seafood, pork, poultry and light-meat game birds. Also great with vegetables.

Apple   A more complex, denser flavour than Alder, yet still quite mild with additional sweet, fruity hints. A good all-rounder, great with game birds, fish, beef, poulty and pork, especially hams.

Ash   Renowned as a fast burning wood, ash has a uniquely light flavour. It is one of the more unusual choices for food smoking and is worth trying with fish as well as white meats and poultry.

Beech  A milder version of oak with a subtlety of flavour which makes it ideal for fish, pork and poultry

Bourbon Soaked Oak   The Camerons Oak grain to which has been added a touch of whiskey giving you a double flavour hit. Great for game or red meats.

Cherry   A sweet, mild flavour which works with most foods from duck to trout and, as a result, is one of the most popular woods used for food smoking

Corn Cobb   Formed form the heart of the corn cob and processed into granules, this flavour packs a slightly sweet yet robust punch. You don't need to use much and it's also recommended as a booster for apple grains when smoking chicken or turkey.

Hickory  Good with red meats, hickory has a strongish flavour which will impart a robust taste to foods.

Maple   Produces a mild, sweetish flavour which is great with pork, poultry, small but highly flavoursome game birds, vegetables and cheese.

Oak   Widely used in commercial smoking, oak works with most foods producing a heavy smoke flavour which is particularly suitable for red meat, heavy game and pork. It's also fantastic with sausages and can be blended with a fruitwood flavour for smoking turkey.

Pecan  A little similar to hickory but more subtle and delicate.

Maple   Produces a mild, sweetish flavour which is great with pork, poultry, small but highly flavoursome game birds, vegetables and cheese.
