The Grillpro Vertical Smoker is a two tier vertical hot water smoker with separate base and two food smoking compartments. The heat source, as with the ProQ range, is charcoal and this is housed in a charcoal basket in the base. The Grillpro has a fully modular design allowing you to tailer the unit to your cooking requirements. Each component clips together so that the unit can be moved as a single piece or in parts, for example you can lift all the smoking compartments plus the lid fully clipped together as a single unit off the base to top up the charcoal. Designed in Canada, the Grillpro is constructed in powder coated steel in a black finish, the unit has stay-cool side handles and a round top handle and both the lid and base have vents to help control smoke flow and temperature.

As with the highly popular ProQ smokers, the Grillpro includes a water pan feature which at one and the same time suppresses the heat to ensure lower slow cooking temperatures and also infuses both moisture and whatever liquid marinade or fresh aromatic herb combinations you might wish to add into the cooking process. The lid includes a hanging rack and hooks so that you can vertically smoke a range of fish and meat joints, the preferred smoking method for many.

The Grillpro will also convert to a handy kettle bbq just by removing the food smoking compartments and water pan.

 

If you're comparing this with the ProQ Frontier, the differences are that the Grillpro does not have the temperature probe eyelets within the food smoking compartments nor the fold down metal handles, but in all other respects it has a very similar construction and works in exactly the same way.

 

It's food smoking compartments have the same 43cm diameter and depth which means you can use the many great ProQ accessories with this product. The height of the unit is just over 1m.

Self assembly of some of the fittings for this smoker is required, including the handles, side clasps and brackets. You will need a Phillips screwdriver and ideally a pair of pliers to hold the bolts in place while you tighten the screws. It's pretty easy to put together.
