* NEW * The Trailblazer horizontal bbq smoker is a larger version of the Maverick with an overall width of 111 cm versus the 90cm width of the Maverick. This gives you a larger 3500 sq cm cooking area across 4 (rather than 2600 sq cm across 3 cast iron cooking grates) measuring a total of 70cm x 50cm. This is texas style grilling and food smoking in a more traditional bbq design on a rather larger scale!
The many advantages of this type of smoker are increased options for barbecuing as well as food smoking with a number of features to enable you to adjust the cooking temperature. The 4 cast iron cooking grates sit above a height adjustable charcoal grate - the base below is of double steel construction to prevent burnout. The charcoal can be placed to one side of the horizontal space and the food to the other side for indirect grilling. For increased indirect grilling options take a look at the Deluxe version which has a separate side fire box for increased capacity and smoking/cooking options. As with the Maverick, the lid has an innovative double opening function, either sliding back for a quick monitoring of your food or fully hinged opening for open hood barbecuing. A warming rack also sits above the cooking grates and can be swung away from the heat as required. The Trailblazer also features two slatted wooden shelves one to the side and the other to the front and there's also a metal rack shelf at the base of the unit for storing charcoal or wood. Despite it's 37.8kg weight, the Trailblazer's large wheeled base makes it easy to move around. These new ProQ horizontal smokers are made of thicker steel then other brands on the UK market and are treated to a high heat powder coat finish for extra durability.
